ALT Packaging Takes The High Road
Leave it to a Canadian creative agency to rise above the puns and send a liquid cannabis product into outer space with a unique spin on packaging. ALT is the product – which happens to be a spin on the word ‘altitude’ and the phrase ‘altered state’ – Very Polite is the marketing group.
Very Polite – which Canadians are known to be – took charge in all aspects of the look and feel of the liquid cannabis product. That includes the ALT name, which is an acronym for Advanced Liquid Technologies.
The goal here is the rise above the competition with visual packaging that made the product look good for a demographic that obviously wants to feel good. Using inspiration from Science, NASA and the aeronautics industry, Very Polite kindly created a vacuum-sealed silver foil package – which resembles MREs (meals read to eat) more than anything else – containing a box of five resealable glass vials of ALT.
The dosage levels are well marked as the vials contain everything from GPS coordinates and crosshairs mixed with a san serif font. Colours include black, white, silver and a little bit of red. The goal was to look discreet, refined and as far away from pharmaceutical as possible.
Dylan Rekert of Very Polite said the look and feel of ALT’s visuals were aimed directly at the demographic that will be consuming the product. In other words, it had to look like,
“something they would have no issue displaying on their coffee table.”
So instead of leaning on wordplay related to getting high, ALT took the high road.
